Class 1

Mrs Eggleston             Mrs Sohal

Welcome to Class One. My name is Mrs Eggleston and I’ll be teaching you this year along with our classroom teaching assistant Mrs Sohal.

We learn about so many fantastic things in Year One and we have so much fun while doing so. We start our year looking at all the things that make you, you! We look at the country we live in, self-portraits and animals and the human body! We then move onto exploring Space, immersing ourselves in the world of Neil Armstrong and Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night. In the spring term, we travel to Kenya and start learning more about everyday materials in science before we jump aboard a ship and journey around the world with Sir Francis Drake. We finish our year learning about the seaside in the past and present and the local area in which we live, whilst also spending lots of time outdoors learning all about plants. In Class One, you can expect to do daily phonics, maths and English sessions along with weekly RE, PSHE, Music, Art, Computing and PE lessons all linked to our class topics.

I hope you have just as much fun learning in our class as I do!
